LOWNDES COUNTY, Ga. (WTXL) — All parks in Lowndes County are now closed to the public until further notice.
Monday morning, officials posted their announcement to Facebook stating that all local parks are closed.
"Please do not attempt to gather at parks and recreation facilities. In response to social distancing requirements, these areas are off limits until further notice," officials wrote in the post.
Last week, Valdosta and Lowndes County officialsannounced a ban on gatherings of 10 people or more, a voluntary order to shelter-in-place and the closure of all gyms and recreation facilities..
