TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Get ready for more traffic. Students at Florida State University and Florida A&M University are starting to make their way back to the Capitol City.
New student move-in began Thursday at both colleges and is spread out over the next couple of days. Returning students come back this weekend.
New freshmen from both schools tell us they're excited for what the year will bring.
"My words of encouragement is be open minded, take life for what it is and stay focused because I know FAMU is that school, FAMU is definitely that school, so remained focused and remember why you are here," said Jazmine Runyon, second year student at FAMU.
FSU is kicking off the year with the largest freshman class in school history.
Officials say 6,900 freshmen will start school on Monday.
