TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — A new monument will be making its debut in Tallahassee in early spring.
The monument will honor veterans from Vietnam.
Joe West, a local Vietnam veteran, wears a bracelet similar to the monument. The bracelet have been worn by millions of people around the US.
They represent the 2,600 servicemen who have been listed as missing or a prisoner of war.
The bracelet was manufactured in a different state but finally made its way back to Tallahassee on Wednesday. West is happy with the way the piece turned out.
"I can't describe it. I was fortunate enough to be the one who picked it up in North Carolina on Monday. I was just, I was in awe at how well it turned out, how pretty it is," said West. "It's going to be a great addition to the Capitol Complex Property. We're excited."
The monument is set to make its public appearance in spring 2020.
