TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — Four years ago, several organizations came together to honor veterans on Memorial Day.
The group known as "Never Forgotten" salutes the fallen heroes and places flags on their graves at the Southside Cemetery.
This year, The Buffalo Soldiers will be joining in remembering the veterans. With nearly 600 veterans buried in the cemetery, volunteers, especially veterans, are asked to come out and help remember the fallen veterans.
"We break up into teams to do this, usually three and four person teams that way not one person is burdened," said John Vickers, who's part of Never Forgotten. "We like to have a veteran on each team."
Those interested in volunteering with Never Forgotten need to be at Southside Cemetery at 3484 Capital Cir SW at 8 a.m. Saturday morning.
