TAYLOR COUNTY, Fla. — Nearly 100 grams of methamphetamine was found inside a vehicle in Taylor County.
A credible tip led Taylor County Sheriff's Office Drug Task Force Investigators to an impound yard on Wednesday afternoon. A large amount of crystal methamphetamine, or “ice” had said to have been left inside a towed vehicle.
A K9 did a free air sniff around the suspicious car and a positive alert was indicated to the smell of narcotics, specifically coming from the vehicle.
A search warrant was obtained by TCSO and executed the same day. Subsequently, almost a 1/4 pound or 102 grams of methamphetamine was found inside the vehicle, along with a loaded .38 handgun. The street sale value of the methamphetamine is estimated at around $8,000.
The case is under active investigation. TCSO says suspects have been identified and arrests and prosecution are to follow.
