TIFT COUNTY, Ga. (WTXL) — The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has identified the 9-year-old girl who was stabbed to death at the Peterson Apartments Tuesday morning.
Wednesday, the GBI released additional details about the murder of of 9-year-old Alazia Johnson.
On Tuesday, around 7:30 AM, the GBI said the Tifton Police Department requested them to help investigate the child death.
About 10 minutes earlier, Tifton Police officers responded to the Peterson Apartments where Alazia was found stabbed to death. Now, agents and investigators are actively investigating this incident as a homicide.
Alazia’s body has taken to the GBI Medical Examiner’s Office in Decatur where autopsy results are pending.
