Multiple cases of West Nile virus confirmed in Lowndes County

LOWNDES COUNTY, Ga. — Four cases of the West Nile virus have been confirmed in Lowndes County.

A Georgia Department of Health spokesperson said there's been a total of four cases of West Nile virus confirmed in Lowndes County. The DOH says this isn’t out of the normal and it’s nothing to be concerned about.

They are advising people to wear repellent and to be aware that mosquitoes are most active around dusk and dawn.

The DOH is currently working on testing out nine other surrounding counties.
