Moultrie mother who dropped baby during fight released from jail

MOULTRIE, Ga. (WTXL) — A Moultrie mother charged in the murder of her own baby after she dropped her child during a fight has bonded out of jail.

Karen Lashun Harrison is charged with felony murder, first degree child cruelty, and simple battery afterher 3-month-old son was dropped during a fight between Harrison and another woman.

Harrison got out of jail on a $100,000 bond on October 11. She was originally denied bond by a judge.

The fight broke out at Thomas Beauty Supply on July 19. In surveillance footage of the fight, Harrison can be seen holding her baby. She is then hit by another woman who is standing beside the car.

Harrison's next court date is set for January 6, 2020 at 9:30 a.m.

ABC 27 has reached out to the superior court clerk and Moultrie Police Department for more information. We're waiting to hear back.

Carneata Clark, the other woman who was not involved in the fight but allegedly help Harrison lie to investigators, is facing obstruction charges.

The other woman involved in the fight has not been charged.
