Mothers Against Drunk Driving teaming up with FDOT for holiday campaign

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — While the holiday season is in full swing, organizations are reminding you to not drink and drive.

Mothers Against Drunk Driving is teaming up with the Florida Department of Transportation for Vision 20/20.

The campaign encourages people not to drive, walk, or bike while under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

MADD is handing out towels, calendars, and a bags to remind people to drink responsibly.

"Between Thanksgiving and New Years Day last year, there were 1,600 drunk driving deaths. We want to stop that," said Claudia Machado, with MADD. "Our Vision 2020 campaign is encourage people to have safe holidays. We want people to travel and come back or stay where they are safely."

They'll be talking to people throughout different communities and handing out things until the new year.
