TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — Emma Rae Colonna and Kashten Lou Alexander Washington were the first two babies that kicked off 2020 in Tallahassee.

Baby Emma arrived weighing 7 pounds and 6 ounces at 1:30 a.m., on New Year's morning at Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare.

TMH says Emma's parents, Kim and Shaun, are already "filled with love for her and can’t wait for her to meet her very excited big brother! "

Kim told ABC 27 that baby Emma was supposed to be induced a couple days ago but the hospital was backed up.

Surprisingly, Kim says she got a call from the hospital on New Year's Eve but was not expecting to be the first mom of 2020 in Tallahassee.

A few hours later over at Capital Regional Medical Center, baby Kashten arrived at 3:11 a.m.

The hospital says Kashten's parents Laquanzia and Alvin along with his four siblings are overjoyed with their tiny bundle.

Kashten wasn't due until next week but couldn't wait to see 2020. Similar to Kim, Laquanzia says she was not expecting to be the first mom at Capital Regional this year.

Kashten was also welcomed by his grandmother who thinks this was a great start to 2020!

Both parents said they are very thankful for healthy babies and the staff at the hospitals.
