TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Tallahassee Mayor John Dailey weighed in on the stabbing Wednesday.
The mayor spoke about how sad Wednesday's incident is for the community, but especially on 9/11. Mayor Dailey commended Tallahassee Police and first responders for how they handed the incident.
In an effort to stop the violence from continuing in the Capital City, Mayor Dailey says that at the next joint meeting with Leon County and Leon County Schools, he plans to scrap everything on the agenda and focus primarily on crime.
It's a plan that he says will ultimately benefit the entire community.
"The fact of the matter is that this is a strong community. This is a community that loves each other, we support our neighbors, and it will make us stronger as we move forward," said Dailey. "We're trying to figure out why this happens, but it also shows that our community just like every other community across the country isn't immune to these random acts of violence by these monsters."
The meeting has been moved to next week but no specific date or time has been scheduled.
