LEON COUNTY, Fla. — A Tallahassee man threatened to kill deputies after he was caught burglarizing a local Dollar General store.
Ruben Ruiz, 23, and Hilario Gonzalez, 18, were arrested by the Leon County Sheriff's Office.
On Wednesday at about 5:30 a.m., deputies were called to Dollar General on Blountstown Highway in reference to an alarm at the building.
When deputies arrived on scene, they saw Ruiz running from the business. He was caught after a brief foot pursuit and threatened to have deputies killed by "putting hits" on them.
Deputies also found Gonzalez trying to leave the area in a car. LCSO was able to identify both Ruiz and Gonzalez in the burglary by watching the store's surveillance video.
Ruiz is being charged with burglary of unoccupied structure, corruption by threats on public servant, criminal mischief of $1,000 or more, and resist officer without violence.
Gonzalez is being charged with burglary of unoccupied structure, criminal mischief of $1,000 or more, and resist officer without violence.
Both were taken to the Leon County Detention Facility.
