Man seriously injured during ATV crash in Liberty County

LIBERTY COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) — Troopers say a man is suffering from serious injuries after being ejected from an ATV during a crash in Liberty County.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, the accident occurred Sunday around 8:40 p.m. on NW Joe Chason Circle in Liberty County.

FHP says the driver of a CanAm 4 wheeler ATV, was traveling west on NW Joe Chason Circle approaching Joe Chason Circle.

For unknown reasons, the ATV exited the roadway, overturned, and collided with a culvert pipe.

Due to the impact, troopers say the driver was ejected from the ATV and landed in a ditch. They say he was not wearing a helmet during the crash.

Witnesses and bystanders called 911 and Liberty County EMS quickly responded.

The driver was air lifted to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital by Life Flight suffering serious injuries.

Florida Highway Patrol was assisted by Liberty County Sheriff’s Office and EMS.

Authorities say the investigation is still pending.
