The Thomasville Police Department has identified the body they found in a front yard of a home on Monday.
The deceased man was identified as as 67-year-old Willie James Barber.
Police say they were dispatched to the 1300 block of Wright Street around 8 a.m. Monday for a possible death. When they arrived, they found a middle-aged man lying on the ground outside of his home.
Investigators determined that the man was dead and called in the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the Thomas County Sheriff's office to help them process the crime scene.
At this point, the death is believed to be suspicious in nature though a cause of death has not been identified.
On Tuesday, an autopsy was performed and police are currently awaiting the results.
