TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — He's been sober for over 10 years, and now he's biking across the southeast to bring awareness to an important issue.

Adam Lineberry is traveling from Mobile, Alabama to Key West, Florida by bicycle.

Lineberry was once homeless in Tallahassee. Now, he's cycling through to bring awareness to and show that anyone can overcome drug addiction.

"I haven't rode a bike since I was 15-years-old," said Lineberry, "so I was lead to get on a bicycle and talk to people to let people know counseling is available, help is available. You dont have to die of your addiction, like I almost did."

Lineberry is meeting up with a group of cyclists in Fort Myers to continue the journey to Key West.

They are expected to arrive by March 21. Then, Lineberry will cycle back to Mobile.
