Man arrested in attempted robbery of FSU student in Spirit Way Parking Garage

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — A man has been arrested after attempting to rob and getting into a physical altercation with an FSU student in the Spirit Way Parking Garage.

Edgar Carroll Jr., 26, was arrested by the Florida State Police Department.

FSUPD responded to the Spirit Way Parking Garage at about 7:50 a.m. Monday in reference to an ongoing physical altercation. Both involved parties were immediately detained.

It was later determined that Carroll Jr., demanded the victim’s wallet and cell phone while concealing his hand behind his back as if he had a weapon.

FSUPD says the victim complied and gave Carroll Jr. a cell phone and wallet. After the victim determined Carroll Jr. had no weapon, the victim approached Carroll to retrieve the property and an altercation ensued.

The victim sustained a minor injury, was treated, and released on scene.

Carroll Jr. was booked into the Leon County Detention Facility and is being charged with robbery without a weapon and battery causing bodily harm.

The investigation remains active and ongoing.
