Man admits to embezzling over $300K from Thomasville business

THOMASVILLE, Ga. — A man has been arrested after admitting to embezzling over $300,000 from a local business in Thomasville.

Jimmy Dewayne Jones was arrested by the Thomas County Sheriff's Office.

Jones worked for Accounting Associates of Thomasville, where they handle payroll for several other companies. He is accused of taking the money for the payroll taxes from a medical clinic over the years 2013 to 2017.

Jones is being charged with one count of theft by conversion.

According to TCSO, the case is being forwarded to federal authorities for review and additional charges are possible.
