TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — A Tallahassee man was arrested after deputies caught him cooking meth inside a dead man's home on Natural Bridge Road.
According to court documents, Leon County deputies responded to Natural Bridge Road in regards to a suspicious incident on Saturday night. Deputies say the complainant observed the suspect going in and out of the home, which was suspicious because the owner of the home died on Sept. 30.
When deputies arrived, they went inside the home. While clearing the home, deputies heard someone inside a small room that was attached to the back of the house.
Documents say deputies then knocked on the room door and a male voiced called out to them. Deputies also noticed a strong chemical odor coming from the room.
The suspect then opened the door and was later identified as 57-year-old William Glover.
While investigating the small room, deputies found different fuels and chemicals scattered throughout the room.
Deputies asked Glover where the "unbearably strong" odor was coming from and he admitted that he had been smoking meth. Documents say Glover then changed his statement and admitted to cooking meth, which is why the odor was so strong.
Glover was using a Gatorade bottle to cook meth which investigators say is commonly referred to as the "One Pot" method. While speaking with Glover, he also informed them that he stays at the home sometimes but didn't formally live there.
Documents say deputies removed multiple items from the room including a hot plate, funnels, tablets, lighter fluid, and other chemicals. Investigators say all the items found were items typically used to cook meth.
During the investigation, the "One Pot" and the contents inside were weighed and tested on scene by deputies. Deputies say they found just over four and half ounces of meth.
Glover told deputies that he only cooks meth for personal use and that he does not sell it. He also stated that he has been "cooking meth" for the past five years.
Based on the evidence, Glover was arrested and transported to the Leon County Detention Facility.
He is facing multiple drug related charges including trafficking methamphetamine, manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of a listed chemical, and possession of narcotic equipment.
