TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — Maclay School in Tallahassee just earned $10,000 after two students won Powerade's National Power Your School video contest.

On Friday, two Maclay students received a check at their school's pep rally.

The Power Your School video contest was a national contest that provided an opportunity for student-athletes to demonstrate their school's needs.

The Maclay swimmers sent in a video, hoping to receive funding to upgrade their swim equipment.

One of the organizers of the contest expresses how this opportunity will benefit the students in the long run.

"I think its just great for the students. Think its good for them to learn that when you work hard and you try, you are able to achieve. They did a really good job," said David Whitaker, Business Development Manager for Coca-Cola.

The winning decision was based off of creativity, school need, and quality of submission.
