LEON COUNTY, Fla. — The Meals on Wheels program got some special help Tuesday morning.
Middle and high schoolers with the Sheriff's Adventure Camp helped out delivering meals to seniors.
Meals on Wheels delivers lunches to home-bound, food insecure seniors in the community five days a week, at no cost to the seniors.
"It's very important for us to give back to the community. It gives the kids a different insight on people that they may have never experienced before," Leon County Sheriff's Office Deputy Shalonda Scott.
Each week during the Sheriff's Adventure Camp, the students are involved with a community service project to emphasize the importance of helping others.
