TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — One of the elite cave divers who saved the Thai soccer team last summer needed some rescuing himself this week.
And a local man from our area rescued him.
Josh Bratchley was diving with friends at a Mill Pond Cave on Tuesday.
It's a challenging dive with tight turns, gagged edges, and narrow passages.
When his friends came out of the cave, they noticed he was missing, so Specialty Diver Edd Sorenson was sent in to help.
Sorenson founded Cave Adventures in Marianna.
"It was difficult. It was low, silty, dangerous. The line was broken," said Sorenson. "The only way that a diver would have to follow out, so it was , it was quite a difficult task just finding him."
36 hours after he went missing, Sorenson found him in an air pocket.
Bratchley was covered in mud and really cold, but uninjured.
He say she's looking forward to his next cave dive.
