TIFT COUNTY, Ga. — A Tift County football and basketball coach passed away over the weekend after suffering a heart attack.
WALBreports Anthony Bateman suffered a heart attack on Saturday around 4:30 p.m. during a basketball tournament in South Tifton.
According to WALB, Bateman was an assistant basketball and football coach and administrative assistant at Tift County High.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Bateman family and the TCHS faculty and students. There will be counselors at Beulah Hill church on Tifton Eldorado Road to talk with students. Please do not go to the hospital out of respect for the family.
