TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Businesses from across the Sunshine State were honored in the Capital City on Friday for their commitment to hiring people with disabilities.
Florida Abilities annual Exceptional Employer Awards recognizes organizations and employees that not only go above and beyond for their community, but are determined to hire qualified job seekers with disabilities.
Tallahassee Mayor John Dailey says it's wonderful to see so many businesses, not only across the state, but also in the Big Bend to have a commitment to help people with special needs.
"The City of Tallahassee is a leader in recognizing those with disabilities and the contributions they make and we've participated for many years, but to take a step back and recognize other employers in the community that are investing in our neighbors and our family members to make their businesses stronger but also build their confidence, it's been an amazing experience," said Dailey.
Ability Florida also helps people with disabilities find jobs.
