LEON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) — When kids grow up with literacy problems, those problems can continue into adulthood.

A group in Leon County wants to change that.

The Literacy Volunteers of Leon County work with adults to help improve reading and writing skills. It's a free program and the goal is to increase literacy for adults in the area.

"And this is a perfect place for it to happen the public library its discreet, its confidential," said Rhonda Cooper, the group's literacy project coordinator. "We're on the third floor. Nobody knows why they're coming here or that anybody up here is part of the literacy program and it's just a perfect situation."

The tutoring sessions are at Leon County's public libraries and you can apply for a tutoring session any time the libraries are open.
