(WTXL) — School districts across the Big Bend and South Georgia have announced tentative dates for when schools will reopen for the 2020-2021 school year.
Below is a list of when students in our area are scheduled to start school:
FLORIDA
- Leon County: August 31, in-person and virtual options
- Florida State University: August 24, in-person
- Florida A&M University: August 24, in-person
- St. John Paull II Catholic High School: August 24
- Trinity Catholic School: August 24
- Florida State University Schools: Distance learning on August 19, on campus learning on August 31
- Gadsden County: August 31, in-person and virtual options
- Wakulla County: August 13, in-person
- Jefferson County: August 24
- Madison County: August 24 (Pre-K, kindergarten, 1st, 6th, and 9th) with in-person and distance learning options, August 26 (all other grade levels return)
- Taylor County: August 17 for Pre-K, August 24, in-person for K-12
- Lafayette County: August 17, in-person
- Suwannee County: August 10, in-person
- Hamilton County: August 10
- Franklin County: August 14, in-person and virtual options
- Jackson County: August 24, in-person
- Liberty County: August 31
GEORGIA
- Valdosta State University: August 17
- Lowndes County: August 14, in-person and virtual options
- Valdosta City Schools: September 8 , in-person and virtual options
- Thomas County: September 8, in-person and virtual options
- Thomasville City Schools: September 8, in-person and remote learning options
- Decatur County: August 12 remote learning starts through August 28 at minimum, in-person starts August 31
- Grady County: September 8, in-person and virtual options
- Brooks County: September 8, in-person
- Lanier County: August 24, in-person
- Echols County: August 21, in-person
- Tift County: August 7
- Clinch County: August 10, in-person
- Seminole County: August 24, in-person
- Miller County: September 8, in-person and distant learning options
- Colquitt County:August 17, in-person and virtual options
- Berrien County: August 13, students with last name beginning with A-K start in-person, August 14 students with last name beginning with L-Z starts in-person. August 17 all students return in-person & remote learning options.
- Cook County: August 10
- Baker County: August 24
