Here's a list of sandbag locations open around the Big Bend ahead of this weekend's severe weather.

TALLAHASSEE/LEON COUNTY, Fla.

The City of Tallahassee will open two sandbag locations starting at 9 a.m. on Friday. Bags and sand will be available at the following locations:

  • James Messer Park South at 2830 Jackson Bluff Road (on the south side of Jackson Bluff Road between Appleyard Drive and Dupree Street),
  • Old Northwood Mall at 1940 North Monroe Street (near the entrance off North Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.).

QUINCY/GADSDEN COUNTY, Fla.

Gadsden County Public Works has opened a sandbag location at the Post Plant Pit, 1090 Post Plant Road, Quincy, FL. The sandbag location will be open Saturday, October 19, 2019 from 7 a.m. until 3 p.m.

PERRY/TAYLOR COUNTY, Fla.

Sandbag locations will open Friday morning at the Taylor County Public Works Department in Perry and the Steinhatchee roll off site from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Fla.

Sandbags available now in Jefferson County at the following locations:

  • The old fire department next to the county road department
  • Lloyd between the post office and volunteer fire department
  • Wacissa at the old post office

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Fla.

Franklin County is distributing sandbags at the following locations from 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. :

  • Apalachicola – Old State Yard on Bluff Road (12th Street)
  • Eastpoint – Fire Station
  • St. George Island – Fire Station
  • Carrabelle – Old County Annex on Hwy 98 E
