LIST: Places providing free food to students in Big Bend, South Georgia

(WTXL) — Recognizing many students eat two meals a day at school, local communities are providing food to students and their families during the COVID-19 school closures.

JACKSON COUNTY, Fla.

  • March 16-20 from 9:30-11:30 a.m. at Jackson County Elementary Schools .
  • Deliveries will also be made on Tuesday and Thursday to homes along the bus routes during this same time period.

LOWNDES COUNTY, Ga.

  • March 17 at Redland Baptist Church from 7 am - 11 am

Call 229-244-5770 or 229-244-1920 Monday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. to register with how many family members are in the household.

  • March 18 at Crossroads Baptist from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m., or until the food is gone
  • March 19 Redland Baptist Church 7 am - 11 am

THOMAS COUNTY, Ga.

  • Beginning March 17 through the next two weeks, 8 am- 6;30 p.m.
