TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — The search continues for the next Chief of the Tallahassee Police Department.

The community partners committee that involves members of the community has now narrowed the list to 10 candidates. These candidates will go-on for further interviews.

City Manager Reese Goad says the plan is to have a new chief hired by January 2020.

"We want to make sure that we did this right and take the right amount of time to seek a full list of candidates," said Goad. "We've been able to do that to go through those candidates to make sure they have the best opportunity tell us about themselves and learn more about them because this is an important position for the city."

Interviews for the top 10 candidates will start on Nov. 4. The city is also asking for your input. For more information click here.
