(WTXL) — The Liberty County Board of County Commissioners has declared a local state of emergency for all of Liberty County.
Their declaration follows Governor Ron DeSantis' state of emergency declaration for all 67 counties in Florida.
The local state of emergency allows Liberty County, along with other public safety agencies in the county, to begin making preparations for possible storm effects.
"At this time, we are unsure of exactly what impacts Dorian may have on our community, however we at the Sheriff’s Office are taking this event very seriously, and are creating response plans based on multiple possible scenarios," deputies wrote.
They are encouraging everyone to make preparations for the storm now, including ensuring you have seven days of supplies (food, water, medications, etc.) on hand.
