MIDWAY, Fla. — Leslie Steele has been voted out from her position as Midway City Manager.
According to Lamar Kirkland, the interim city manager of Midway, the city did vote to terminate Steele, but council members are scheduled to meet next month for a second vote.
Kirkland states the second vote will give the city the chance to begin the search for a new, permanent city manager.
According to Kirkland, the special meeting on Aug. 22 was to remove her from her position due to administrative decisions that she made and for other reasons that Kirkland would not specify.
We reached out to Steele on Tuesday and she states that she is on paid administrative leave due to a whistleblower complaint and is still city manager.
This is a developing story.
