LEON COUNTY, Fla.(WTXL) — Leon County Schools will start practice and acclimation period for all fall sports on September 11.
In addition, the first first football games will be Friday September 25.
Teams will have the opportunity for a seven game season. Athletic Directors will meet again next week to finalize additional details and plans for other high school fall sports, including cheerleading and band.
All fall sports (not just football as was in original plan) will play an in county only schedule. They will not be allowed to travel out.
Middle school sports will follow the high school plan, but football will be a spring sport for middle school.
They will start on September 11 as well.
The reason for the push back for Leon County's start date is because they want to see the data with school starting for two weeks before they allow them to start.
