LEON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) — Leon County Schools Superintendent Rocky Hanna says he will recommend to the school board that the district again delay the start of school to August 24.

He made the announcement during a Reopen Schools Task Force meeting on Thursday.

To maximize planning time for teachers, Hanna wants teachers to return August 10 and plan for students to return on Monday, August 24.

Originally, the school board agreed to delay student's return to school to August 19.

Hanna will present a finalized plan on Tuesday's Leon County School Board meeting.
