LEON COUNTY, Fla. — The Ballard Law Firm donated $50,000 to the Foundation for Leon County Schools to help local children and families during the holiday season.

Leon County Superintendent Rocky Hanna received a call from Kathryn Ballard this week informing him that the Ballard Firm was interested in helping those in need during the holiday season.

On Friday morning, school social workers joined the Foundation for Leon County Schools and other district staff to identify students and families to receive donations.

“We are blessed to be in a position to do something directly impacting children in our community at Christmas time,” said Ballard. “We are humbled to be able to assist these families with a helping hand—it brings us so much joy to help others in need.”

The team of LCS staff visited local stores Friday morning to buy toys, food, blankets, clothes, housewares and other items to be delivered to the families over the next few days.

“It is truly a Christmas Miracle for these students and our district. For the first time in my life I was speechless when I first heard of the Ballard Firm’s intentions," said Hanna. "Now my heart is smiling knowing that these kids are going to receive some much needed food, household items and toys for the holiday season. We are grateful to Ballard family and their firm for this incredible gift to our community."
