TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — Leon County Schools is making it easier for students to receive meals.

All schools are handing out breakfast and lunch for the digital academy students.

Students can pick up two breakfast meals and two lunches on Mondays and three of each on Wednesdays.

Griffin Middle School's principal, Zelena O'Banner, says many in the community have stepped up to help the students since COVID-19.

She says it's an important part of the student's success.

"I think just as a community, as a whole, the community is a very close network," said O'Banner. "We have a lot of churches get involved. A lot of business partners. So all in all just making sure the service is available."

Pick up times vary by school.
