TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — April 28 is Pay it Forward Day, and Leon County is looking to the community to support local businesses and non-profits on this day of giving.

Leon County has joined forces with IShopTally.com where customers can purchase a gift card from local businesses which they can then donate to non-profits.

Over 60 local businesses and non-profits are participating and Leon County officials are hoping the community steps up to help them.

"That is one of my favorite things about the Tallahassee-Leon County Community," said Cristina Paredes, the director of the Tallahassee-Leon County office of Economic Vitality. "We really rally around each other to support in times of need. You've seen that through the hurricanes we've faced as well as the COVID-19 pandemic. Our businesses are being innovative, our non-profits are being innovative and we really are coming together to support each other in this time of need."
