LEON COUNTY, Fla. — It's that time of year again.

Kitten season is in full swing and the Leon County Humane Society needs foster parents.

LCHS made the process easy for those interested in saving a life, all you must do is go to their website and apply online.

Then someone will contact you and see what is the best fit for you, either bottle fed kittens or kittens a little older.

"When you foster you are truly saving a life. You are opening up your home to someone or something that wouldn't be saved other wise this is something that we do all year, but we really do have a high demand in the spring and the summer," said Deidre Carey, Cat Foster Program Coordinator for LCHS. "We were able to save more cats last year than in previous years and we are hoping to top that again this year and we couldn't do it without the support of the community."

Kitten season usually runs from March through the fall.

LCHS is also looking for donations to help them through kitten season like: Royal Canin mother and baby cat canned and dry food, KMR (kitten mile replacement) powdered or canned, kitten bottles, heating pads without auto shut-off, non-clumping cat litter, and fosters.
