TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — Two officers from Leon County Sheriff's Office found a heartwarming way to support family and each other.

LCSO's assistant chief of staff Mary Nicholson is fighting cancer.

Officer Shade McMillian and deputy Michael Wallace wanted to honor their coworker as well as their mothers.

McMillian's mother is also battling cancer, and deputy Wallace lost his mother to breast cancer some years ago.

"I'm going to get rid of my hair and I'm going to match that beautiful bald head of yours," said Wallace, with Nicholson laughing.

Because cancer patients are among those with compromised immune systems, they aren't allowed contact with anyone, so McMillian and Wallace video-chatted with their chief.
