LEON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) — The Leon County commission has voted to open up county fields and playgrounds to allow youth sports to be played this fall.

Commissioners voted 5-2 on Tuesday to have youth sports this fall, however, there are some guidelines surrounding the use of the spaces by leagues.

County leaders are requiring COVID-19 mitigation plans to be submitted to the county from each team or league planning to utilize the spaces for practice or games.

The county administrator would enforce the rules and reserves the right to shut down all operations if the rules aren't followed.
