LEON COUNTY, Fla. — Leon County Commissioner Bill Proctor called out hotels in Tallahassee over what he calls price gouging.

During an event Wednesday, Proctor called on Attorney General Ashley Moody and Agriculture Commissioner Nikki Fried to conduct a seven year review into hotel prices.

Specifically into prices during Florida State and Florida A&M events, games and graduations.

Proctor says the increases prey on the universities and has a negative impact on their community support.

“Don’t hurt our fans that dig deep into their pockets. I understand you have to make a profit but let’s be fair," said Proctor.

Proctor says an an investigation looking back over the past seven years will “reveal the pattern of discrimination and hustling."
