TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — Three people were arrested after deputies say they were caught with a gun and drugs during a traffic stop over the weekend.

According to the Leon County Sheriff's Office, deputies were patrolling in the 1600 block of Blountstown Highway when they observed a Jeep Grand Cherokee with an expired tag on Sunday morning.

LCSO says deputies then conducted a traffic stop on the Jeep and found that the driver, Mason Carr, 32, had a suspended license.

Deputies also searched the vehicle and found that the passenger, Mary Meredith, 36, was in possession of a Xanax pill and drug paraphernalia.

They say Meredith didn't have a prescription for Xanax and was also arrested.

During the traffic stop, deputies noticed that the back seat passenger, Kendrick Brown, 28, was attempting to hide something under his seat.

Deputies searched the area and found a grey bag which had a 9mm Hi-Point gun inside of it.

They also discovered that Brown was a convicted felon.

LCSO says all three were arrested and transported to the Leon County Detention Facility.

The suspects are facing a series of charges including, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, Driving while licensed suspended and possession of a controlled substance.
