TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — Two 16-year-olds suspected in at least six burglaries are behind bars after the Leon County Sheriff's office says they were arrested in a stolen car.

Around 5 p.m. Tuesday afternoon, the Leon County Sheriff's office Real Time Crime Center (RTCC) got information that a stolen car was coming into Leon County from Gadsden County on Highway 90 West.

Based on the information, deputies with LCSO's SPIDER Unity were able to find and stop the car in the 5000 block of West Tennessee Street.

Four people were in the car, but investigators say two of the people inside had no idea the car was stolen.

The other two, a pair of 16-year-old boys, were identified as the suspects in the crime.

LCSO says one of the 16-year-olds was found with a gun in his lap. According to the Tallahassee Police Department, that gun was determined to be stolen from an unlocked car over the weekend.

Both teens were arrested and taken to the Juvenile Assessment Center. Each are facing a variety of charges related to grand theft of a firearm, grand theft of a motor vehicle, and multiple burglaries.
