LCSO: Teens steal car from local neighborhood, found with guns, marijuana

LEON COUNTY, Fla. — Two teenagers were arrested after law enforcement found them with guns and marijuana after stealing a vehicle from a neighborhood off Thomasville Road.

Darien Kimble, 18, and a 16-year-old was arrested by the Leon County Sheriff's Office on Tuesday.

Analysts with the Real Time Crime Center identified the 16-year-old and Kimble in possession of a stolen vehicle from a neighborhood off Thomasville Road.

Detectives with the Leon County Sheriff’s Office Property Crimes Unit and Special Projects Investigations Detection Enforcement Response (SPIDER) responded to the area and found the stolen vehicle in the 3200 Block of Sugarberry Way.

Deputies then conducted surveillance on the vehicle and the 16-year-old and Kimble, got into the stolen car.

Both were taken into custody without incident and were on probation at the time of the arrests.

Inside the stolen car, deputies found a firearm and several electronics. Inside the home, they found another firearm.

Kimble is being charged with:

  • Grand Theft Motor Vehicle
  • Possession of Weapon by Delinquent
  • Possession of Less Than 20g of Marijuana
  • Violation of Probation: Armed Burglary of Dwelling

The 16-year-old is being charged with:

  • Trespass in a Conveyance
  • Possession of Less Than 20g of Marijuana
  • Violation of Probation: Grand Theft Motor Vehicle
  • Violation of Probation: Grand Theft Firearm
