TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — The Leon County Sheriff's Office revealed their new re-entry female dorms and education complex and held the ribbon cutting ceremony Tuesday afternoon.
These new additions to the facility is focused on giving inmates that are soon to be released help with preparing them to return to society.
Community partners for these additions include Career Source Capital Region, Disc Village and Tallahassee Community College. Leon County Sheriff Walt McNeil led the charge at Tuesday's press conference in their focus on improving the futures of all those held at the Leon County Detention Center.
The new dorms have inspirational quotes on pink walls, iPads to communicate with friends and family, and work spaces to continue their educational programs.
