TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — Local and state authorities are investigating after a body was discovered inside a burning home on Poplar Drive Sunday morning.
The Leon County Sheriff's office says the Consolidated Dispatch Agency received a call for a house fire in the 1200 block of Poplar Drive around 7 a.m. Sunday morning. The Tallahassee Fire Department, along with deputies, responded to the scene.
After the fire was extinguished, an unidentified deceased person was found inside.
LCSO detectives, Florida's Division of Financial Services (Division of Investigative and Forensic Services) were called into investigate.
At this time, authorities have still not identified the victim.
