LEON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) — A 20-year-old man is behind bars and a gun is off the streets after Leon County deputies stopped him for "aggressively tailgating" an unmarked Leon County Sheriff's office vehicle.

Around noon on Thursday, members of the Leon County Sheriff’s Office Special Projects Investigation Detection Enforcement Response (S.P.I.D.E.R.) Unit were doing a proactive patrol in the area of W. Tharpe Street.

While in the area of Falconcrest Street, deputies observed a vehicle driving in an aggressive manner behind them.

The driver of the vehicle, later identified as 20-year-old Arthur Nance, continued to drive aggressively by swerving between lanes and tailgating the unmarked sheriff’s office vehicle.

Deputies conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle.

While at the window, deputies smelled the strong odor of cannabis and Nance admitted he had marijauna in his possession.

Deputies searched his vehicle and found a backpack with a loaded gun with an extended magazine and about three ounces of cannabis.

Nance was taken to the Leon County Detention Facility.
