LEON COUNTY, Fla. — Some of Leon County Sheriff's Office K9 teams will soon be competing in the national spotlight.
A&E’s new K9 competition series “America’s Top Dog,” brings together top K9 cops and civilian dogs alongside their handlers as they compete on a K9 obstacle course that tests their speed, agility and teamwork.
The first episode, which airs on Jan. 8 at 9 p.m., will feature Deputy Casey Skelton and K9 Maverick.
Other episodes will feature Sergeant Chuck Mehr and K9 Tater, Deputy Justin Wilmot and K9 Cam, and Deputy Jesse Matthews and K9 Bane.
They are competing for the top prize of $10,000 and an additional $5,000 to donate to the animal charity of their choice.
