LEON COUNTY, Fla. — As you're planning your summer vacations, don't forget about the safety of your home while you're gone.

If you don't have anyone you trust to house sit, don't worry. The Leon County Sheriff's Office has got you covered.

All you have to do is call the sheriff's office and ask for a house check. LCSO will drive by and make sure your house is secure.

"Let us know what days you're going to be gone, what vehicles are going to be there, whether you have people checking on it or not, and we'll make sure have a deputy, as they can, as time allows, go by the house and check to make sure windows aren't broken, doors aren't kicked in, things like that," said LCSO Deputy Dave Teems.

And as you prepare to leave, make sure you're locking all of your doors and windows.
