LEON COUNTY, Fla. — Starting September 29 until October 9, Leon County Schools says parents may choose to change their child's education model for the second nine weeks.

The district says parents have the options to change from digital academy to in-person, or from in-person to digital academy.

If you are staying with your child’s current educational plan, officials say no action is needed.

The new educational plan and second nine weeks will begin on Tuesday, November 3, 2020.

LCS says whether a parent decides to change plans, or continue with their current plan, this choice will continue through the end of the first semester.

Changing an educational plan may impact your student’s schedule, teacher and lunch period, according to the district.

Below is a list of steps parents must follow in this process:

  • Inform the school of a switch from September 29 through October 9
  • Class size, schedule, teacher and lunch period may be impacted by making a change
  • Your new choice of educational plan will begin for students on Tuesday, November 3
  • This choice will remain in effect through the end of the first semester (ends on January 15)
