GADSDEN COUNTY, Fla. — The Pinellas County Sheriff was speaking as part of the three-day Rural Counties Summit.
It focuses on Violence Against Children in a Modern Society. Wednesday afternoon, Florida Department of Law Enforcement agents Mike Duffey and Jason Knowles gave a presentation, focusing on internet crimes.
They focused on the danger for children in a digital world and child cyber-security.
"What we're trying to do is provide that training, that advance training and opportunities for anybody this is not just a law enforcement piece, this is a multi-disciplinary piece and we've learned that we need everyone from our community that we work in and that we live in to participate," said Mark Perez with FDLE.
This is the seventh year the Rural County Summit has been held.
