LEON COUNTY, Fla. — If you want to vote in the primary election for House District 7, you only have a few hours left to register.
Not everyone is eligible to vote this time. Residents of Gadsden County, Tallahassee, and most of Leon County don't live in this district. But there are five Leon County precincts eligible to vote.
The primary is only for the Republican Party and since Florida has closed primaries, you can only vote if you're registered as a Republican.
"We certainly like to see high turnout. We like to see people involved in the process and participating in any election that we have even if it's a special election only for Republicans in House 7. We still hope to have a good turn out on election day and early voting leading up to it," said Chris Moore with the Leon County Supervisor of Elections.
The primary will be held April 9 with early voting from March 30 through Apr. 6
The special election is June 18 and everyone registered in House District 7 will be eligible to vote, regardless of party. Leon County voters have until midnight to register online.
